Tottenham should replace Eriksen with Lo Celso now

With the Danish superstar seemingly intent on a big money move to La Liga, what can Spurs do about the situation?

Mauricio Pochettino may not like it but, with the player all but lost, a statement has to be made. Spurs need to show star players that they cannot run down their contracts in a bid to secure a move elsewhere. With that in mind, Tottenham should drop Eriksen and start Giovani Lo Celso.
Tottenham signed the Argentinian after he impressed for Real Betis last season. The dynamic midfielder was likely seen as a replacement for the outbound Eriksen and, with the Dane set to cost the club millions, why not thrust the Argentinian in to the starting XI?
Lo Celso has managed just 44 minutes for Spurs so far this season and if he is to adapt to life in the Premier League he needs gametime. In the short term, dropping Eriksen may seem like too risky a decision but the benefits are long term.
If Tottenham want to make a statement this is the right way to go. Rule one of being a big club – nobody is bigger than the club. Not even Eriksen.
