Spurs reportedly want ÂŁ60k-a-week wizard who’s like ‘prime Eden Hazard’, fans should be thrilled – TBR View

Spurs are preparing for a crucial season in which they will hope to bounce back from a torrid 2020-21.

Tottenham finished empty-handed and only qualified for Europe because of the Europa Conference League’s creation.

However, with Fabio Paratici in charge of bringing top talent to Spurs, the future looks optimistic.

Tottenham have been linked with Daniel Podence, an exciting attacker who has been compared to Eden Hazard.

Journalist Alex Crook told that Spurs could make a “double raidof Wolves for Podence and defender Willy Boly.

“Daniel Podence, a frustrating player in many ways because there is clearly some talent there, said Crook.

“But clearly a player Nuno has faith in, so there could be some kind of double raid on Wolves./p>

And Spurs fans should be excited about links with Podence, because on his day, he’s sensational.

And if anyone can ensure that the 25-year-old is on his day as often as possible, it’s Nuno, his former manager at Molineux.

Podence: The story so far

Podence came through the ranks at Sporting CP and made 40 senior appearances for the Lisbon giants.

While on their books, he also took in a loan spell at Moreirense, where he won the Portuguese League Cup in 2017.

Podence also won the 2015 Portuguese Cup and the 2018 League Cup those were with his parent club.

He joined Olympiacos in the summer of 2018 for a reported ÂŁ6.3m and made 68 appearances, registering 13 goals and 14 assists.

And in January 2020, Podence moved to Wolves for a reported ÂŁ17.7m, on a ÂŁ60,000-a-week deal () until 2024.

He has made 38 appearances in old gold and registered four goals and five assists.

Podence’s style of play

Podence was deemed one of the Premier League’s “Rising Starslast summer.

Adrian Clarke wrote on the official PL : “He possesses impressive speed off the mark and his darting runs in behind defenders are sure to cause problems.

“From longer diagonal passes one of the team’s main strengths Podence definitely has the tools to stretch rival teams.

“Indeed, the winger is the second-fastest player at Nuno’s disposal.

“Podence turns sharply and has wonderful skill in tight areas.

“This ensures he catches the eye, and often the trailing leg of floundering opponents.

“Podence also likes to fire off shots and is averaging over three efforts per match.

“Playing for a side who can be a little formulaic at times, Podence has the kind of unpredictability that could just turn tight matches in their favour./p>

Clarke also noted how his goal return wasn’t the best, but “under the expert guidance of Nuno, who has helped Traore improve his all-round game tremendously, Podence should develop nicely

Eden Hazard comparisons
