Spurs predicted XI for League Cup final: Ryan Mason to drop ‘technically gifted’ player
Tottenham Hotspur have the opportunity to end a 13-year trophy drought on Sunday, with Ryan Mason’s charges contesting the League Cup final at Wembley.
In Spurs’ way stand Manchester City, the Premier League leaders looking to secure a fourth League Cup trophy in a row and sixth in eight years.
It’s been a dramatic week for Tottenham, who not only caused controversy with their initial intentions of competing in the European Super League, but sacked Jose Mourinho too.

Ryan Mason picked up a win in his first game in interim charge of Spurs, a 2-1 victory over Southampton, and now has the chance to lift silverware in just his second game in the dugout.
So, who could Mason pick in his starting XI to face City?
Hugo Lloris is a shoo-in in goal, while the defence is likely to remain as it was against Saints, that is Serge Aurier, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Sergio Reguilon.
Likewise, the midfield has been doing well as Mason probably won’t feel the need to change it, which means Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele in the double pivot.
There could potentially be a change in the attacking three behind the striker if Harry Kane is passed fit – in terms of No. 10, Lucas Moura would be perfect over Giovani Lo Celso.
While the Argentine is a “technically gifted” player, in Harry Winks’ , Lucas is great at pressing, can cover for Gareth Bale, and his dribbling could cause issues for the opposition.
So that’s Kane leading the line, Son Heung-min on the left, the forward at No. 10, and Bale on the right.
