Spurs loanee Harvey White reacts to winner on Instagram; Hart and Tanganga reply

Joe Hart and Japhet Tanganga were amongst those to reply to Harvey White after the Spurs loanee scored a winning goal for Portsmouth on Tuesday – with George Byers comparing the midfielder to Harry Kane after the header.

The 19-year-old’s loan with the League One side has taken some time to get going. He has only started once, with a further six appearances coming from the bench.

But he marked that start in some style this week. Portsmouth travelled to Oxford to take on a potential promotion rival.

It was White who got the decisive goal shortly after half-time. The midfielder produced a bullet header into the top corner after a brilliant cross from Callum Johnson.

White will be hoping that the goal acts as a catalyst that kicks his loan spell into another gear. He may struggle for confidence if he returns to Tottenham in the summer having struggled to force his way into Portsmouth’s side on a regular basis.

He has had a taste of first-team football in North London this season. So he will hope that the goal may be the first of many significant contributions in the coming months.
