Spurs-linked Marcel Sabizter says he is happy with RB Leipzig, for now
RB Leipzig midfielder, Marcel Sabitzer, has addressed talk of him moving to Spurs by insisting he is ‘not stressed’ by the situation.
The impressive midfielder has been linked with a move to north London ever since the summer. Back in December, it was also claimed by the that Leipzig has slapped a £45m transfer fee on his head.
However, talk has not gone away in terms of whether or not Spurs will make their move. But speaking to German media this week, Sabitzer has directly addressed talk of a move, insisting he is happy where he is, for now anyway.
“I don’t know what Julian has in mind. And I have to say: I have a contract until 2022, and not just until the summer. It has become popular to ask players about his future as soon as he enters the final 18 months of his contract. But that doesn’t mean that everything has to be decided at that moment,” Sabitzer said. “Those in my inner circle know what I’m thinking. But I’m not stressed about it. I feel good in Leipzig and at the club, plus we’re successful.”
The Austrian, who can play in a variety of midfield roles, is one of the most sought-after players in Europe. He’s hit seven goals this season across all competitions, and could well be open to following the likes of Timo Werner from Leipzig into the PL.

Jose Mourinho is always on the lookout for new players who can add quality to his ranks and Sabitzer would certainly do that.
The thought of him and Hojbjerg in the middle is one that would frigthen a lot of central midfields. Both are powerful players and both aren’t afraid of a scrap in the middle of the park.
But unlike Hojbjerg, Sabitzer has that bit of quality in the final third. That is something Spurs could benefit from and if they can indeed land Sabitzer, there is no doubt their squad would improve.
