Spurs fans react to Davinson Sanchez display vs Manchester City
A number of Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Davinson Sanchez after the defender produced a stunning display against Manchester City on the opening day of the new season.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men kicked off their campaign with a win. Son Heung-min scored the only goal against the champions at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Several Spurs players were simply outstanding. Japhet Tanganga was man of the match. Oliver Skipp shone in a star-studded midfield. And Lucas Moura seemed to be absolutely everywhere.
But perhaps the biggest surprise came from Sanchez.
The Colombian was named alongside Eric Dier for the curtain-raiser. And based on their form last season, fans would have been forgiven for being extremely concerned.

But the pair were colossal. And Sanchez epitomised Spurs’ performance late on with a crunching challenge near the middle of the park.
He won more challenges than any other Tottenham player (). He also made five clearances. Only Dier made more.
It was a remarkable display from the 25-year-old. It was a reminder of how good he can be.
‘He was fantastic’: Spurs fans laud Davinson Sanchez after win over Manchester City
Spurs fans have not seen that level of performance anywhere near often enough. So Sanchez’s challenge is to now build on his efforts against City.
But for now, plenty of supporters have insisted that he was flawless in a huge win for Nuno’s men…
Sanchez played actually really well

Credit to both Dier and Sanchez I was dreading them as a pairing today but both were really outstanding today. 🤍🤍🤍

So many things to feel – absolutely fantastic spirit. Davinson Sanchez had one of his best games in a Spurs shirt. My main man Lucas Moura was absolutely class – sat down Man City players and drew so many bad challenges. And Japh Tanganga🤩🤩🤩
