Spurs fans react on Twitter to Joe Rodon’s display against England
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to Joe Rodon’s performance against England in Thursday’s friendly at Wembley.
Rodon’s future has become a real talking point in North London this week. , Spurs made a £7 million bid for the Swansea City centre-back on Monday.

Tottenham have until next Friday to try and get a deal done. But it looks as though they have some ground to make up if they hope to land the 22-year-old, that Steve Cooper’s men want £18 million for the youngster.
Thursday’s friendly between England and Wales offered Spurs fans a fantastic opportunity to have a better look at Rodon. And he was handed a daunting task with Gareth Southgate picking a front three of Jack Grealish, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Danny Ings.

‘Quality’
But Rodon can arguably be extremely proud of his performance before he was taken off at the break by Ryan Giggs.
And many Tottenham fans clearly saw a lot of positives from Rodon. It must not be forgotten that he is unlikely to be a player who would be signed to immediately hold down a spot in Jose Mourinho’s strongest lineup.
But he has definitely been identified as one for the future. And with that in mind, plenty of supporters suggested that they would be more than happy if Spurs can agree a deal in the coming days.
He looked confident and assured on the ball. And he also managed to play the kind of long passes that prompted one supporter to note a similarity between Rodon and Toby Alderweireld.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to his performance…
Rodon is looking decent

Joe Rodon passes the long pass test. Alderweireld-esque. 🎯

Joe Rodon has looked absolutely brilliant so far. Would be a snip at £18m. There’s absolutely no downside to signing him at all. The arrow is pointing up.
So much ability and quality. 😎
