However, Spurs would “prefer” selling the 22-year-old outright for 25m euro (£20million).

Tanganga was one of Tottenham’s success stories during a difficult 2019-20 campaign.

He made his first-team breakthrough at Spurs and looked like he could become a future regular.

However, Tanganga has suffered from numerous injuries since, restricting his game time.

Tanganga has made 15 appearances in all competitions this term, including eight Premier League starts.

That said, Antonio Conte has given the academy graduate a decent amount of game time since joining Tottenham.

Tanganga played the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on 26 December.

“I think he made a great performance and I’m happy,” Conte said of Tanganga to .

“I’m happy for him because Japhet is a player that has a great sense of belonging.”

In addition, – quoting a similar Tuttosport report – claims the £20million fee makes Tanganga a “fairly inaccessible target” for Milan.

And in August 2021, a Tottenham coach told : “He has the assets to be a phenomenal right-back.

“With a bit of work on how he can produce in the final third more — improving his crossing and passing — he could become one of the best right-backs in the league.”

It looks as though Conte is happy with Tanganga but, as he’s not a regular in the starting XI, then Tottenham appear willing to listen to offers – if they’re high enough.
