‘Spot on from Rio’, ‘exactly’: Some Tottenham fans agree with what Ferdinand has said about Spurs
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Rio Ferdinand’s comments following Spurs’ FA Cup fifth-round exit.
Spurs travelled to Everton in pursuit of a spot in the quarter-finals, but their efforts on the night went unrewarded as they fell to a 5-4 defeat after extra time.
Tottenham led after just three minutes through Davinson Sanchez’s header from a corner, but the Toffees rallied round with three goals late in the first half.

Erik Lamela then pounced on the stroke of half time to make it 3-2, before Sanchez netted again to drag Spurs level just before the hour mark.
Richarlison put Everton 4-3 up on 68 minutes before substitute Harry Kane restored parity once again with a far-post header, but Bernard’s extra-time strike proved the difference in the end.
Tottenham’s elimination was largely thanks to a number of individual errors, with Hugo Lloris unable to keep out Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s strike and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg conceding a penalty.
And Ferdinand says he feels sorry for under-pressure Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, the former Manchester United defender blaming the players for “consistently” making individual mistakes.
“I have to say I actually feel sorry for him [Mourinho] in some ways,” Ferdinand told BT Sport, as relayed by .
“Because in recent weeks he’s changed quite a few times in the way they’ve approached games.
“The West Brom game was a bit different when Harry Kane wasn’t playing, and now tonight was open and expansive.
“But each and every one of those times recently they’ve been undone by individual moments, individual errors.
“As a manager, you can prepare all you like all week for each game but these individual errors are killing him.

“In that sense I feel sorry for him because sometimes it just derails his whole plan that he’s worked on all week.
“I think it’s a quality thing, yeah. I think there’s too many players consistently making mistakes and it’s leaving them open and they’re having to chase games some of the time.”
And quite a few Spurs fans on social media agree with what Ferdinand has said:
Exactly fans don’t understand stand and I mean some fans not all, but the manager gives instruction and mou clearly knows what he’s doing he can’t physically play for them, its the quality of the players themselves

True and hope this helps the anti Jose is this and that,he should play this player or he should play attacking football every time.if playing attacking football and your defensive errors are destroying the attacking style, what is the point playing good and losing.

Exactly. Thank you for the facts Ferdi! Don’t get why some people put all the pressure to Jose, not players

Spot on from Rio . The players just think they are safe and it’s ok to make individual errors because the manager always carries the can . Some of these players are on their 3rd or 4th boss at the club and doing the same things week in week out .

Agree with him 100% last night. Team shape was good, we were never outnumbered or outmatched in any area of the pitch. Individual brain farts aplenty. Dont agree with him for the Brighton Chelsea games. From minute 1 we bunkered in, defended deep & didnt lay a glove on them.

Individual errors are the reason we are 8th on the table and not 1st or 2nd

Rio knows ball

Poch and Jose are world class managers. Like he said “when you move into a new home, you want to put the best furniture in”. I feel a defensive summer overhaul coming and there’s few better than Jose Mourinho in doing that… COYS
