‘Spellbinding’, ‘dizzying’: Reported Liverpool target compared to Kevin Keegan
Reported Liverpool target Jadon Sancho has been compared to Anfield legend Kevin Keegan by the Bundesliga
Sancho, like Keegan 40 years earlier, is one of the most talked-about players in Germany after making the switch from English football and going on to excel in the Bundesliga.
When Keegan swapped Liverpool for Hamburg in 1977 , he was already a bona fide star, having won three First Division titles, one European Cup, two UEFA Cups and one FA Cup.
Sancho, meanwhile, left Manchester City aged 17 and was initially earmarked for Borussia Dortmund’s reserve team.

The impact made by both at their respective German clubs is proving just as big, though.
Keegan won the Ballon d’Or in 1978, retaining it the following season and also adding the Bundesliga title to his CV.
Sancho, meanwhile, has helped Dortmund to second in the Bundesliga table, just four points behind Bayern Munich, as the league prepares to return this weekend.
Individually, the 20-year-old has weighed in with a simply remarkable 31 goals and 42 assists from just 90 first-team games.
“Like Keegan, since Sancho has settled in his new surroundings, there has been no stopping him,” wrote the Bundesliga .
“His spellbinding dribbling skills, dizzying bursts of pace and conjuring ability have more than a Keegan-esque resemblance.”
The claimed in February that the Reds had informed Dortmund of their desire to sign Sancho later this year.
Numerous other elite clubs have also been linked with the attacker, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea ().
TBR View:
Much like during Keegan’s playing days, Liverpool are now the strongest team in England and would be very much worthy of having someone like Sancho in their ranks, and vice versa.
A recent report from claims Sancho has an agreement with Dortmund to move clubs this summer, and given Liverpool are probably the most attractive proposition for a player in terms of English clubs, really it’s just a question of whether the Reds are able and willing to purchase him – £120million has been as a potential fee.
