Southampton’s reported signing Mohamed Elyounoussi can fix meagre attack
The mood around Southampton in the past week has been sombre, knowing𝕴 star play-maker Dusan Tadic is likely on his way to Ajax, , as the team struggled in the final third even with the Serbian last term.
However, the effect of his exit will be less♔ened once the Saints round-off negotiations to sign FC Basel forward Mohamed Elyounoussi, as the club neౠar a £16 million deal,
The 23-year-old Norwegian international operates largely as either a winger or☂ striker, and offers the attributes to bolster Southampton’s lacking attack, having amassed an impressive 13 goals and 17 assists in all ♔competitions last season with the Swiss giants.

He has also proven himself on the biggest stage, having bagged two goals o♌n route to the last 16 in the Champions League – before being knocked out by Manchester City – and that will come as a relief to fans, as Tadic’s return was unmatched by any other player at the club in the latest campaign.
The lack of creativity, and more so, 💙end product, hindered Mark Hughes’ side massively. The Saints created more chances than anyone else outside the top six, yet were 15th for number of goals scored, as the final pass or shot was always lacking.
However, Elyounoussi has the track record to change things at St Mary’s, and the impending departure of Tadic might not be that detrimental with his ♉arrival.
