Southampton readying bid for ‘brilliant’ Arsenal player as soon as Euro 2024 ends

One of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals, Southampton, are now readying a move for a player who has made immense improvements under Mikel Arteta.

Although Arsenal have been quiet in the transfer window so far, only confirming the permanent arrival of David Raya, deals should soon begin to gather pace.

Both Euro 2024 and Copa America have been contributing factors to a slow summer so far, and Arteta🌃 himself has admitted that PSR rules have also playedඣ a role across clubs.

How🤡ever, with just the remainder of July and August to go, Arsenal should begin to make some serious moves.

In that regard, perhaps Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori will be the first player through the door, a left-footed defender who can effectively replace both Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinhcenko.

Arteta see’s Calafiori as an inꦏverted left-back at Arsenal, someone🏅 who can add ball control as well as defensive nous.

Alongside the possibility of both Kiwior and Zinchenko leaving north London this summer, it seems as if a host of players could depart, including Aaron Ramsdale.

But so far this summer it seems as if Arteta’s side have struggled to find a suitable ﷺdestination for Ramsdale, who they do not want to sell below-value.

Howe𓆉ver, according to a new report in Sunday’s edition of The Sun (14/07, page 58), Southampton are now weighing up a move for Ramsdale.

The Saints are said to want a ‘top-level’ goalkeeper in orde⛄r to boost their chances of staying in the Premier League this season, and plan to step up their inte🌸rest once Ramsdale returns from the Euros.

The report explains that should ‘brilliant‘ Ramsdale leave this summer, Arsenal would prefer a permanent deal and would want close to the £3൩0m they paid🍷 to sign the keeper.

However, if that price tag isn’t met then Arsenal may sanction a loan move for the England internationa꧂l who could then generate a big fee in the future.

Arsenal are seriously interested in signing Espnayo🗹l’s Joan Garcia – but won’t make their move𒐪 unless Ramsdale leaves the club.

Therefore, it’s clear that there will be s♎everal moving pieces for Edu and his team in the coming weeks.

And unfortunately it’s now reported that Barcelona have beg༒un discussing ♓personal terms with a forward Arteta would love to sign.
