Southampton manager comments on future of Leeds-linked Che Adams
as commenting on the future of striker Che Adams amid reported interest from Championship leaders Leeds United – and it is not good news for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Adams, 23, joined Southampton in the summer from Birmingham City after he starred for the Midlands side last season – scoring 22 goals and creating five more in 46 league games. But for Southampton, Adams has struggled.
Following his £15million () move to the Saints, though, Adams has failed to find the back of the net for his new club – despite being used 17 times by manager Hasenhuttl. Danny Ings remains first choice, while Shane Long has overtaken Adams.
Even Michael Obafemi is being used here and there by Hasenhuttl, which led to Hasenhuttl could let Adams leave Southampton on loan – and Leeds were keen. The Austrian manager has now ruled out a sale.
“I wouldn’t consider loaning him out, I need every player, especially in an attacking position as we don’t have many,” . “He’s not so happy in the moment because he didn’t play that often and hasn’t scored so far but we know what we have with him and we know that we need him.”

TBR’s view – Adams would have been perfect for Leeds promotion charge
Purely because he offers something different – not only to the Leeds squad, but Adams boasts the perfect mix of speed and strength that Championship defences simply could not deal with last season.
There is no doubt that Adams would have scored 10-15 goals had he joined Leeds in the coming weeks. Instead, Leeds will have to continue their search for Eddie Nketiah’s replacement – as he returned to Arsenal at the beginning of the window.
