Southampton fans react to reports Arsenal want Mohamed Elyounoussi

A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on that Arsenal and Leicester want Mohamed Elyounoussi.

The Gunners and Foxes wanting the Norwegian will come as a surprise to many. He has looked bright since returning to St Mary’s in the summer.

However, before that, he had spent two years on loan at Celtic. He did well at Parkhead. But his form was arguably not quite at the level to leave Ralph Hasenhuttl with a simple choice regarding what to do with him upon his return.

Nevertheless, he is now wanted by two of the Saints’ Premier League rivals. It has been reported on Sunday that both Arsenal and Leicester want the 27-year-old.

, he cost the Saints £16 million. But he is said to be a potential low-cost target with his contract expiring at the end of next season.

Elyounoussi is a player Martin Odegaard may want to see at the Emirates. The pair are teammates for Norway.

However, it may alarm plenty of Arsenal and Leicester supporters to see how some of the Southampton fans have reacted to the reports.

It does seem that most are open to the idea of selling the attacker. A couple have suggested that £20 million would be a decent price for Elyounoussi.

Southampton are languishing in the bottom-half of the table. And they arguably do not have a lot of depth in attacking areas.

So it says a lot that the idea of Elyounoussi – – leaving does not appear to be a huge concern at this point.
