Southampton fans react as Aston Villa eye Ralph Hasenhuttl
A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on that Ralph Hasenhuttl is one of the names on the radar of Aston Villa as they look for their next manager.
Villa are continuing their search for Dean Smith’s successor. He was dismissed on Sunday in the wake of their 1-0 defeat to the Saints at St Mary’s on Friday.
And it seems that Hasenhuttl may now be in the frame for the post. that he is one of their top targets, along with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.
Hasenhuttl has had an interesting time as Southampton boss. And that potentially explains why some of the Aston Villa fans were divided over the prospect of the Austrian coming in.
The Saints have obviously suffered a couple of huge defeats during his time in charge. And it did appear that it was going to be a difficult season for the club as they waited a little while for their first win.
However, he has enjoyed some real highs. Southampton went top of the Premier League table 12 months ago. And they looked to be in contention for a European spot for some of the campaign.

They have moved away from the bottom three this term. And given what is happening with the ownership on the south coast, it does appear that Hasenhuttl is doing a brilliant job.
