‘Sorely missed’: Leeds fans congratulate Pontus Jansson on Brentford’s League Cup success
Leeds United fans sat back with pride last night as they saw former defender and Elland Road favourite, Pontus Jansson, seal a place in the League Cup semi with Brentford.
Jansson surprisingly departed Elland Road at the beginning of last season but has since gone on to become a key figure for Thomas Frank, much like he was in West Yorkshire.
The big Swedish defender was not part of the squad as the Bees saw off Newcastle but took to to post a message of pride and leadership at seein ghis teammates do the business.
Proud to be captain for this squad and this club. Unbelievable performance! ❤️

Unsurprisingly, Jansson’s post caught the eye of a number of Leeds United fans, who took the time out to congratulate their former defender, with some supporters even suggesting he’d be welcome back given Leeds’ current defensive woes.
With that, then, here’s how some Leeds fans reacted as Pontus Jansson became a League Cup semi-finalist with Brentford.
