‘He hates it’: Son Heung-min shares what Bernd Leno said to him after Tottenham beat Fulham
Son Heung-min has shared what Bernd Leno said to him after Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Fulham on Monday, which saw the Spurs captain beat the German for the opening goal.
Son was speaking to after Ange Postecoglou’s men returned to the top of the Premier League table with a 2-0 victory.
Son Heung-min played a key role in the win. He scored the opener and then set up James Maddison for the second of the game.

The 31-year-old’s strike was a moment of sheer brilliance. Son did superbly to create a yard of space for himself. And then he managed to curl the ball past Bernd Leno with a sublime finish from the edge of the box.
Son Heung-min shares what Bernd Leno said at full-time
Of course, Tottenham fans will know Leno best for his spell at Arsenal. So they will need no encouragement to take some additional satisfaction from the strike. But for Son, it was a chance to get one over on a former teammate.

The pair played together 87 times for Bayer Leverkusen. And after the game, Son suggested that Leno expressed his frustration with the forward.
“He hates it! He knows me really well, so I don’t think about the friendship on the pitch. He hates it, after the game he said stop shooting in this corner. Some days he makes unbelievable saves because he knows me so well, because we were good friends at Leverkusen,” he told .
Tottenham star unstoppable once again
Son looks to be getting closer and closer to rediscovering his best form. It is easy to forget now just how disappointing last year was for the forward. His mediocre goals tally arguably flatters him based on his performances.
But he has been absolutely outstanding this season. He has relished taking on the captaincy. And he is forming a brilliant partnership with James Maddison.
Certainly, his strike to open the scoring on Monday night was a further indication that he is putting his previous struggles behind him.
It was a world-class finish which leaves Son amongst the top goalscorers in the division so far this season.
It was also a strike that Leno could do nothing about – despite having a pretty good idea of where Son would attempt to put the ball.
