‘Something special’: Fabinho says Liverpool have a truly incredible talent in their ranks
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has praised Reds teammate Curtis Jones following his Champions League masterclass on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old has risen through the ranks at Anfield and delivered arguably his finest performance for the Reds earlier this week.
Jurgen Klopp named Jones in the Liverpool XI for the trip to Porto, and the homegrown talent played a hand in all five of the visitors’ goals.

A brace from Mohamed Salah and a goal from Sadio Mane gave the Reds a 3-0 lead on the hour.
Porto pulled one back but Roberto Firmino then added a further two from the bench for a comprehensive 5-1 win.
The Liverpool asked Fabinho after the game what he made of Jones’ display, noting he’d played a part in each of the Reds’ goals.
“Yes, every goal!” the Brazilian . “He’s a really good player.
“He needed this, to play every three days, it’s important for him for his rhythm.

“Physically, he’s really good and then with the ball, we know if we give the ball to him he will turn, he will create something special because he’s a really talented player.
“So, I’m happy for him with his performance and I hope he will keep playing well like this.”
In early 2018, Jones signed his first professional contract at Anfield and made his Liverpool Under-23s debut.
Three-and-a-half years on, and the midfielder has over half a century of appearances for his boyhood club.
Jones also has the accolade of being Liverpool’s youngest ever captain in a game, a contract until 2025, and six England Under-21 caps.
And with such an impressive performance against Porto at such a young age, he really looks like a superstar in the making.
