‘Something else’: Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Luis Diaz display

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight at beating Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of Luis Diaz after watching the Colombian make his Premier League debut for the Reds on Thursday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have continued to keep their slim title hopes alive after a 2-0 win over Leicester City at Anfield. Diogo Jota scored both goals for the Reds, with one coming in each half.

The result was particularly impressive with neither Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah starting the game. The latter was on the bench initially, and came on with around half an hour remaining.

It was a significant occasion for Jota as he continued his stunning run of form this season. But it was also notable as the game marked the first league start for Diaz following his move in the January transfer window.

He made his debut in the FA Cup at the weekend. And he managed to whet the appetite for this clash. He showed some real glimpses of quality on Sunday.

What was remarkable about Diaz’s performance was how comfortable he looked. He came close to scoring on a . In fact, one effort came agonisingly close to crossing the line after the ball squirmed through Kasper Schmeichel.

He has already formed an impressive understanding with Andrew Robertson. And he is certainly looking set to put some real pressure on the likes of Mane and Roberto Firmino.
