Some West Ham fans react as midfielder leaves the London Stadium
Samir Nasri has left West Ham United after the club opted against extending his contract ().
The French ace signed for the club back in January on a deal until the end of the season.

An option to extend was included in the contract, but officials have decided to let the player go.
Nasri only made six appearances for the club as he struggled to maintain his fitness.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City playmaker continually struggled with a calf problem during his time at the London Stadium, and his issues have cost him another year at the club.
His signing was a gamble – before joining the club Nasri got banned from football for 18 months for breaching WADA rules.

People had doubts about whether he would be a worthwhile signing given how long he was away from the game – and it looks as though those people have been proven correct.
Nasri has been released along with striker Andy Carroll, backup goalkeeper Adrian and young striker Tony Martinez, all of whom are out of contract.
West Ham fans react
A number of Hammers supporters seemingly aren’t too fussed about the news of Nasri’s exit:
Andy & Adrian no surprise. Nasri I thought would of stuck around for little longer. Good luck guys in future football/work. ⚒

Glad Nasri is gone. Carroll could have been great but for the injuries.

Probably the right decision. Shame Nasri didn’t work out – he showed a few moments of real class. Adrian and AC both good servants whose time had come. Surely frees up a significant amount of wages.

Bitter sweet for Carroll and Adrian. Nasri is class but his injuries held him back. Overall happy though

Replace them with two people who can play 30 games a season each and we will be a lot better off financially and I suspect in terms of points on the table.
Carroll’s time has passed and Adrian needs to find first team football. Nasri is simply injury prone and best rid !— Paul Lewis (@PaulLew20651321)
Makes sense. Like Nasri but not fit enough to be in the same team as Wilshere and ditto Carroll. Adrian is nowhere near as good as Fabianski so I would not begrudge him getting a free and going off somewhere to get 1st team football at this stage of his career.

Right decision on Nasri too. Looks a good player but can’t stay fit and can’t be bothered.
