The Brazilian winger pounced on two golden opportunities for both of his strikes, clinically slotting home past Joe Hart from close range to earn his first brace for the Hammers.

West Ham fans praised the summer signing after the match, hailing Anderson for his lethal finishing and living up to his hefty price tag.

A multi-million pound purchase from Lazio, Anderson had scored just one goal in the league before today, with supporters questioning whether the Brazilian was the worth the significant transfer outlay.

Yet with his double against Burnley, some West Ham supporters noted that they always had faith in Anderson, claiming he simply needed time to adjust to English football.
