Some Sunderland fans name two things they want the club to do right away after today’s defeat
A number of Sunderland fans have urged the Black Cats to sack Phil Parkinson and bring Aiden McGeady back into the fold following today’s dismal loss.
Sunderland hosted MK Dons – a team that hadn’t won away from home since 2019 – at the Stadium of Light.
Despite home advantage and opposition with such a poor record on the road, the Black Cats put in a poor performance as they led a one-goal lead slip to lose 2-1.

Max Power opened the scoring for Sunderland in the 12th minute, firing home from the edge of the area.
However, MK Dons looked confident from the start despite conceding, and were level within four minutes, Cameron Jerome heading home from Ben Gladwin’s delivery.
Power then went from hero to villain as he brought Scott Fraser down in the box to concede a penalty, which the 25-year-old converted from the spot.
Sunderland couldn’t come back from Fraser’s penalty and fell to their second defeat of the season which, combined with three draws and six wins, has them sixth in the table on 21 points.
An increasing number of Black Cats fans are growing ever more impatient with Parkinson’s displays and have called for him to be sacked.
McGeady, meanwhile, has been frozen out under Parkinson since late last year and, despite being allowed to find a new club in the summer, has stayed put on Wearside.
Here is what some supporters have been saying on social media:
