Rangers fans have reacted to the news that Filip Helander and Greg Docherty have both been dropped from the Europa League squad.
The pair will not be involved for the upcoming tie against Legia Warsaw (), the first leg of which commences on Thursday.

The duo have been replaced by new signings Andy King and Brandon Barker who joined the club from Leicester City (loan) and Manchester City (three-year deal) respectively.
Having got past St Joseph’s, Progres Niederkorn and Midtjylland, just two games now separate the Gers from a place in the Europa League group stages for the second reason running.
£3 million signing Helander grabbed his first goal for the club on his debut against East Fife in the Betfred Cup at the weekend. Docherty played for an hour before being substituted, but neither will feature against the Polish side

Rangers fans react
Lots of Rangers fans were quick to back Steven Gerrard’s decision, with many feeling as though Helander still needs some time to get up to speed with the rest of the squad.
As far as Docherty dropping out is concerned, most are fairly unsurprised with the 22-year-old having failed to convince the masses:
Helander still needs a few more runouts for match fitness. Andy King offers vital experience which might be needed over the two legs, Greg just needs to bide his team and perform when he gets his chances. Both decisions make total sense from SG.

I don’t think Helander is quite at the same fitness levels as the squad. So fair to drop him out for this game.

Docherty did not show enough against East Fife to put any pressure on those already in the jersey. Helander is a bit of a surprise, but maybe we are just well enough placed with the three others – I’ve been really impressed with Edmundson when he plays.

Helander’s not up to speed yet, so that makes sense. Edmundson won’t let us down if required.
Docherty has been replaced by King, which makes me think that Docherty may go out on loan again.
Good to get Barker involved with the squad.

A bit surprised Helander isn’t in the squad Stevie G must think Edmundson is more upto speed, but not surprised King and Barker are, He’ll want to integrate them asap.

Leaving Helander out is right as he hasn’t had enough competitive games Docherty is still a gamble as King is proven at top level no brainier in a must win game

Docherty not good enough

Docherty the right decision but for me it’s too soon for Barker.

Leaving helander out is strange to say the least

Slightly surprised at Helander not being on the bench. Not surprised in the slightest that King has replaced Docherty. King looked class for the short time he played yesterday, while Docherty really didn’t do himself any favours.

Docherty not gonna get any game time, not good enough unfortunately

Total trust in Gerrard’s decisions. Very doubtful that they would be involved anyway. Doc is probably 5th or 6th choice in midfield and Helander is still a few games away from the level that Gerrard is expecting in terms of fitness.

No surprise. Helander not sharp enough yet. Docherty needs to take his chances when they come, don’t think he’s done enough yet to prove he can step into a euro tie and make a difference
