Some Newcastle United fans have reacted after the club were linked with a move for Axel Tuanzebe.

What’s the story?

According to , the centre-half is likely to leave Manchester United on loan, with Raphael Varane’s move to Old Trafford imminent.

is claiming the Red Devils have agreed on a €50m (£42.7m) deal with Real Madrid.

Varane is waiting on approval before flying to the UK, which he is expected to do later this week.

What happened to Tuanzebe last season?

Last season was a fairly strange campaign for Newcastle-linked Tuanzebe.

He was a shock inclusion in the Manchester United starting XI in the clash away to Paris Saint Germain.

However, the 23-year-old enjoyed a brilliant game, keeping Neymar and Kylian Mbappe quiet as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men won 2-1.

But, following his sensational display, the defender ended up playing a bit-part role at Old Trafford.

All in all, the DR Congo-born ace made 19 appearances across all competitions. The centre-back started just nine games, posing real questions over his future.

Newcastle move would suit Tuanzebe

A move would suit both Newcastle and Tuanzebe.

The prospect is looking for regular game time, while the Magpies need a Premier League proven defender.
