Some Newcastle fans laud home favourite Dummett after goalscoring display
Some Newcastle United fans were left lauding Paul Dummett after the Welshman helped the Geordies on their way to an emphatic win over Leicester City.
The centre-half scored the second of Newcastle’s four goals as he aimed a thumping header past a helpless Kasper Schmeichel after Matt Ritchie fired in a corner.
Dummett enjoyed a stunning game playing on the left of a back-three alongside Federico Fernandez and Emil Krafth. The Newcastle-born ace made the joint-second most tackles, the joint-second most blocks and the second-most clearances of any of Steve Bruce’s men.
However, the northeast giants would do well to tie down the defender to a new contract with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season.

TBR View
Dummett proves to be both consistent and one of the key links between the first-team squad and the fans given the fact he was born in the city.
Having gone through the academy and embodies the spirit of the club and can help his teammates thrive as a result, making any potential exit disastrous.
Here are some fan reactions to his display…
Dummett was excellent tonight as well. Still wanting to ship Fernandez out this summer? He’s far better in the middle of the 3, very comfortable.
