What’s happening with Xherdan Shaqiri?

Intriguingly, Shaqiri shared at the end of last month that he informed Liverpool he would like to leave. Additionally, he claims they’ll sell him if the right offer comes in.

“The important thing at this moment in my career is to be able to play regularly, but that hasn’t always been the case in the last three seasons,” Shaqiri said, as quoted by .

“This is why I told Liverpool that I feel ready for a new challenge. They accepted my wish and will seriously consider the offers that will come. They will not stop me.”

reports that Liverpool want around £15million to sell Shaqiri during this window because of interest from the likes of Napoli, Lazio, Sevilla and Villarreal.

Some Reds supporters can’t quite seem to work out where the attacking playmaker will end up.

It’s come from Shaqiri’s mouth himself that he’s spoken with his club about leaving, so there must be some truth in that. Perhaps his recent interview was a more generic piece for the club website.

The playmaker has got incredible individual ability, but hasn’t been a nailed-on starter since he joined the club back in 2018 from Stoke City.
