Some fans react as Spurs snap up £300k gem who Jamie Carragher thinks is ‘top class’
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of teenage midfielder Alfie Devine from Wigan, with many of their fans taking to Twitter to wish him all the best.
After being released by Liverpool, Devine joined the Latics, where he has been developing into a great prospect, and featured for the their Under-23s last season.
Devine also featured in their impressive FA Youth Cup run last term where they beat Spurs 2-0, and has been capped for England at Under-16 level.

Earlier this month, however, Wigan entered administration, just weeks after the club changed owners, and the claimed that the Latics were looking to sell players to raise funds.
On Tuesday, Wigan that Devine had joined Tottenham, with claiming the Latics have earned a fee in the region of £300,000.
Carragher, whose son James plays for the Latics’ academy and came through the ranks like Devine, .
