Some Everton fans react as Lucas Digne claims Europe is in reach for Carlo Ancelotti’s side

Some Everton supporters have been reacting on social media after Lucas Digne told the club’s that the goal of competing in Europe next season remains in reach.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men visit West Ham United this Sunday trailing David Moyes’ fifth-placed side by , after a run of Premier League games but having played one less.

Everton the Hammers, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in order to qualify for the 2021/22 edition of the Europa League, while Champions League finalists Chelsea – who have also played a game more – are ahead in fourth.

It will be a challenge for the Toffees to overcome their recent drop in form and still qualify for one of UEFA’s top-two club competitions, but Digne feels there is still a chance so long as everything comes together in the final weeks of the season.

“Our goal is to be in Europe next season and if we do everything right, we can achieve it,” the France international . “It is really important for the players and the supporters.

“Our fans are amazing. They are still sending a lot of messages, you can see how much they want Europe and it is the same for us.”

Everton last qualified for a European competition when eliminated in the Group Stage of the 2017/18 Europa League, which marked only their of the decade.
