Some Everton fans excited by training clip of Townsend

Some Everton fans were excited by a five-second training clip of new signing Andros Townsend.

His transfer has been met with some scepticism from the Goodison Park faithful. However, they were seemingly impressed by his efforts while training out in Florida.

The ace dribbled around an obstacle before launching an effort into the top left-hand corner.

Everton are competing in a modified format of the Florida Cup after the withdrawal of Arsenal and Internazionale.

Townsend joined the club as a free agent on a two-year deal following his release by Crystal Palace. Upon arriving on Merseyside, he claimed the decision to join Rafael Benitez was a ‘no-brainer’.

Townsend always been capable of a long-range bullet

There may not be much that stands out from the 30-year-old’s career. However, Townsend has always been capable of striking from distance.

Think back to December 2018; Crystal Palace travelled up to Manchester City to take on Pep Guardiola’s side. With the score at 1-0, the winger launched a stunning volley from outside the box to make it 2-0.

He has also done it for England, scoring a long-range stunner on his debut for the Three Lions against Montenegro.
