Some Aston Villa fans react to Brentford play-off loss and demand Said Benrahma signature
Aston Villa fans took a vested interest in the Championship play-off final yesterday evening, as Dean Smith’s old side Brentford took on Fulham at Wembley.
Fulham ended up claiming a 2-1 win after extra time, thanks to a rare brace from left-back Joe Bryan.
For Aston Villa fans, it means the club should be readying a transfer move for one of Brentford’s star players.
Said Benrahma has been one of the Championship’s best players in recent times and last summer, following Aston Villa’s promotion to the Premier League, he was strongly linked with a Smith reunion.

However, Benrahma stuck by Brentford but it seems very unlikely that he will do similar this summer.
Plenty of clubs are being linked with a move for the player but none of them have the Dean Smith factor.
In fact, the Aston Villa boss was even at Wembley watching the game as part of Sky Sports coverage of the action.
It has prompted plenty of Aston Villa fans, despite Benrahma’s disappointing display, to make their desire to sign 17-goal Benrahma clear on social media.
Here is some of the best reaction…
I’ll take one Benrahma, please

Get Benrahma at my club now, will be our best winger since Ashley Young

Well tonight won’t have increased Benrahma’s price!

ALL ABOARDDDDD THE BENRAHMA BUS

Billionaire owners, yet it’s pandemonium as we get so excited about championship players.
Benrahma is definitely worth a gamble, maybe Watkins too, but that’s it.
We played all last season with championship quality players, time to aim higher— Maldini (@SkyHawk6ft8)
Time for Benrahma baby
— Snoff37 (@snoff37)
Think benrahma is a good player, can’t say I’ve seen much of him though. But £35m for a guy from the championship seems very expensive to me..

If you think Dean Smith hasn’t learned from missing out on Benrahma last season it genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if that’s his first signing of the window. I think it’ll happen unless someone bigger comes sniffing.

Lads Grealish was awful in our play off final. Give Benrahma a chance ffs, some of our fans are ridiculous.

I’m expecting Benrahma and Watkins to sign for Villa by the end of the week, no way they’re staying in the Championship for another year.
