Some Arsenal fans want the club to liberate rapid Manchester City ace

Some Arsenal fans have spotted a potential opportunity ahead of the summer transfer window.

Saturday saw Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head at the Etihad Stadium for the second time in the space of three days after the thrilling midweek Champions League encounter.

The champions followed up their 4-3 victory with a 1-0 courtesy of a Phil Foden header to open up a one-point lead at the top, meaning it’s over to Liverpool to respond against Cardiff City on Sunday.

Guardiola has been criticised this season for not giving young Foden more chances to shine, but the Spaniard felt as though he could trust the 18-year-old on Saturday.

It would certainly seem that Guardiola has his set of ‘go-to’ players this season, and one man who is not in that category is reigning PFA Young Player of the Year, Leroy Sane.

The Germany international has racked up 15 goals and 14 assists so far this season, but often he is overlooked by Guardiola in favour of the likes of Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling.

He has started just 20 games in the Premier League so far, and many fans are perplexed as to how a player of his quality plays as little as he does.

Arsenal fans want Sane

Some Arsenal fans tuned in on Saturday to catch City and their bitter rivals in action, in the hope of a Tottenham defeat no doubt to boost their own top four hopes.

A lot of them couldn’t ignore the fact that Sane was once again left on the bench, and implored the club to sign him up ahead of next season.

The Gunners would surely struggle to sign him, as Sane – a £37 million purchase from Schalke in 2016 () still has years before he hits his peak and remains one of Europe’s most devastating wingers.
