Some Arsenal fans were left celebrating after a report emerged claiming Granit Xhaka could follow David Luiz out the exit door this summer.

In a piece earlier, we analysed the impact of Luiz leaving the team after he announced his intention to leave at the end of his contract this summer.

According to , staff at the club believe the Switzerland international will leave north London after enduring a tough term with the club.

Xhaka, labelled a ‘‘, seemed to revive his fortunes at the club following the first-half of the season slump by the Gunners. The ‘midfielder’s been near-flawless since the turn of the year and featured in almost every game across all competitions.

Xhaka’s exit would be a surprise given how well he’s played since January. His partnership alongside Thomas Partey hasn’t happened too often but, when it has, allows the Reds to thrive.

His departure would leave a gaping hole in midfield, and with Dani Ceballos already returning to Real Madrid following the end of his loan spell, would leave the side short of numbers.
