Among the many United players, Maguire has been one of the most consistent and was the out of the whole first-team squad prior to his substitution last weekend. Speaking yesterday, praised the club’s skipper for his displays and relatively injury-free campaign, labelling him ‘‘.
Leicester knows only too well what it’s like to lose your best defender for a big game when Jonny Evans was replaced last minute prior to last Friday’s game against the Geordies after picking up an injury in the warm-up. Amidst his absence, there seemed to be chaos among the Leicester defenders with both Caglar Soyuncu and Wesley Fofana dropping disastrous performances.
The former Leicester man’s absence certainly gives hope to the in-form Kelechi Iheanacho especially after Victor Lindelof’s error against the Villains. Eric Bailly, Maguire’s most likely replacement for tonight, also proves to be wholly inconsistent and when paired with the Swede boosts Leicester’s hopes to attain victory.
