Solskjaer comments on £20m-rated star amid reports Leeds, Everton and Palace could swoop

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has failed to rule out a late move for Manchester United star Dan James – amid reports Leeds, Everton and Palace are keen.

While a near-entirety of Manchester United’s fanbase will have celebrated at the return of Cristiano Ronaldo last week, James might not have.

The arrival of both Jadon Sancho and Ronaldo is likely to reduce his game time considerably over the course of the 2021-22 season.

Wales international James has done well on occasion, but far from enough to earn a regular spot. A loan move might be ideal for the ex-Swansea ace.

Solskjaer was asked about the future of James after a 1-0 win over Wolves. He said that United have fielded some enquiries, and a move is a possibility.

“I’m not going to discuss individual players and names,” . “There have been a couple of enquiries for some.

“With the signing of Cristiano we may give less playing time to a few. Dan is a Man United player at the moment.”

Solskjaer on James: Which is best, Leeds, Everton, Brighton or Palace?

that Leeds, Everton, Crystal Palace and Brighton all want to sign James. A loan is likely, though United are open to a permanent deal.

The Athletic moves the story on, claiming Leeds are ready to pay £20million for the 23-year-old. But at this stage, loans are easier to complete.

Of course, James almost signed for Leeds back in January 2019 – six months later, joining Manchester United. But would he now start for Leeds?

Probably not. Jack Harrison and Raphinha are first choice. It is a similar story at Everton, who boast an in-form Demarai Gray and Richarlison.

A move to Palace would be better, but Wilf Zaha has the left side all to himself. Brighton probably need him most, but Palace do, too.
