Sol Campbell and Sylvain Distin react on Instagram as Everton complete signing
Everton have announced their second signing of the window, immediately after the arrival of Andros Townsend. Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic joins the Toffees on a free from Bournemouth. The Bosnian has penned a one-year deal – and both Sylvain Distin and Sol Campbell have reacted.
Begovic, 34, was a regular for Bournemouth last season – clocking up 51 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries. In that time, he clocked up a very impressive 18 clean sheets. But with Bournemouth failing to go up via the playoffs, Begovic has chosen not to renew his contract.
Everton, meanwhile, have waved goodbye to Robin Olsen – who was on loan at Goodison Park from Roma. But he has returned to his parent club and Everton needed back-up for Jordan Pickford. Now, Rafa Benitez has found his man in the form of Begovic –

It is a solid signing for Everton. Getting themselves an experienced goalkeeper with huge Premier League know how on a free, with the knowledge he is back-up, is impressive. A good deal for Everton in the form of Begovic, and another smart move from Benitez.
Ex-Everton defender Distin reacted – stating his excitement for his old Bournemouth teammate to experience the Everton crowd. Campbell joined Distin in responding to Begovic, following his move to Everton.
