‘So underrated’: Liverpool fans react as Gini Wijnaldum nets twice for Holland

Liverpool midfield Gini Wijnaldum was the talk of Merseyside and beyond last night as he scored twice for Holland to continue his remarkable scoring run.

The double for Wijnaldum last night made it 12 in 19 for the midfielder at international level. His goalscoring form is a far cry from what he produces at Anfield, having only scored four times last season and failing to get off the mark this term.

However, Wijnaldum’s performance last night for the Dutch has given plenty of Liverpool fans cause for optimism, especially given their rotten run of injuries of late.

Some fans, then, have been singing Wijnaldum’s praises on Twitter following the display, with some calling on him to sign his new deal at Anfield while others simply praised his talent.
