‘So good’: Mikel Arteta lauds ‘fantastic’ David Luiz influence at Arsenal
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has sung the praises of experienced defender David Luiz and praised his impact on the club.
The Brazilian defender is one of the more experienced faces in the Gunners squad. Having won titles and played at the highest levels with the likes of Chelsea and PSG, Luiz knows all too well how to win trophies and was crucial as Arsenal won the FA Cup last term.

And s game with Crystal Palace, Mikel Arteta had nothing but good words for Luiz.
“He is fantastic. He is one of the leaders in the dressing room. He is one of the most experienced players, he has won everything in the game,” Arteta told the
“He is so good with the young kids. When you look at people who can help and be a role model, he is always with them, he is always supporting them, giving them confidence and advice. It is great to have someone like him around.”
Luiz has been in and out of the picture this season in terms of the first XI, making eight Premier League appearances but failing to appear in the last three games at all.

However, it seems Arteta values his man and will, no doubt, have use for Luiz as the season progresses into the second half.
TBR View: Luiz is vital, if just for his off-field presence
Arteta says as much anyway but sometimes in a squad you need players who have been around the block, won things, and who the younger players can look up to.
Luiz is certainly in the mold and is a vital member of this Gunners squad. Yes, he’s not quite what he was, but he’s still got a role to play and it’s little wonder Arteta likes having him around.
