‘So be it’: Harry Wilson hints at Liverpool exit after Cardiff loan

Harry Wilson has suggested that he wouldn’t be averse to leaving Liverpool during the summer transfer window during an interview with

The fleet-footed winger has spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan in the Championship with Cardiff City.

He has scored four goals and claimed 12 assists from 35 appearances with the Welsh outfit.

At the end of the season, he will return to Liverpool where he’s only two first-team appearances, with speculation likely to be rife.

Wilson has hinted that he’s not concerned if the moment does come where he has to leave Liverpool in the near future.

“My focus is on finishing the season strongly here at Cardiff and then going to the Euros with Wales and doing well there.

“Whatever happens off the back of that will happen.

“I think it would be silly of me to look beyond that with such an important summer coming up.

“I feel my career has been elsewhere so far. 150-200 appearances and only a couple have been at Liverpool.

“The club will always be close to my heart, but if it means moving away to further my career then so be it.”

TBR View: Anfield departure would suit all parties

Wilson only earns at Liverpool but the time has to come at some point for the Reds to cut him free.

He’s spent time out on loan and proved himself as a quality Championship player.

The 24-year-old will hold ambitions of playing in the Premier League and perhaps seeking a move away from Anfield wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Wilson might not get himself hooked straight up with a club in the top-flight but one with serious ambition in the Championship could suit him.

The Welsh performer does have a season in the Premier League to his name. With just seven goals and two assists during his season at Bournemouth though, top-flight clubs might be anxious over signing him.

It was mentioned last summer that Liverpool wanted for his services.

That does seem somewhat extortionate and the Reds would be wise to entertain lesser bids during the summer transfer window.
