‘They’re unbelievable’: Slaven Bilic says Liverpool have two players who are the best in the world at the moment
Liverpool pair Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are the best pair of full-backs in modern football, according to former West Ham player and manager, Slaven Bilic.
The Reds duo were in fine form once more last night as Liverpool scraped past the Hammers 1-0 at Anfield. Indeed, it was Trent who once again registered an assist for Sadio Mane’s winner. Robertson, meanwhile, contributed massively in defence as he made a game-saving tackle on Michail Antonio.
And according to former Hammer Bilic, the Liverpool duo should be considered as two of the very best in the world.
Speaking to following the game at Anfield, Bilic admitted that both Robertson and Alexander-Arnold make this Liverpool team tick.
They are playmakers as full-backs. The way they pass the ball through the lines, they’re unbelievable when you have them because when the opponent is pressing you they let you go wide,” Bilic .
“To have that privilege to have wide players who can play great balls. Not just balls into the midfielders, great balls into the strikers. These two are doing it week in week out for four years now. I think they are the best full-backs in modern football.”
Jurgen Klopp clearly appreciates the pair too. Indeed, he was seen bear hugging Robertson at the full-time whistle yesterday in appreciation of his efforts.
