Slaven Bilic reportedly tried to sign current West Ham target back in 2017
West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a deal for Fenerbahce defender Hasan Ali Kaldirim. , the Hammers are keen on the Turkish side’s captain in a deal that would be worth around £4.42 million.
West Ham officials are set to try and finalise a deal this week. The player, however, is not 100 percent sold on the idea of leaving the Istanbul club.
If West Ham do manage to snap up Kaldirim, it will be the realisation of a transfer vision Slaven Bilic seemingly had in 2017.

in January 2017 that West Ham were ready to battle Celtic for the signature of the left-back.
The report stated that Slaven Bilic was a big fan of the player from his time managing in Turkey. The former Besiktas boss felt Kaldirim was perfect for the Premier League. With Kaldirim’s contract expiring that summer a move looked possible.
In the end, Kaldirim signed on to remain at Fenerbahce, going on to become their captain.
But West Ham will undoubtedly hope that the former Bilic target does end up in East London this summer. He could provide brilliant cover in the left-back position.
