Sky Sports pundit names the player he feels would help Liverpool’s front three get ‘better and better’

It’s little surprise that Sancho is so in demand, given his impressive stats so far – in 90 competitive Dortmund games, he has registered .

At present, Liverpool are blessed with a front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, but Warnock stressed the need for competition and cover.

“With Sancho, he’s the type of player that can unlock teams playing deep at Anfield,” Warnock told the . “He’s got skill, guile and the ability to break through a defence. That’s something you need.

“Everyone talks about Liverpool’s front three being the best in world football, but you do need competition for them. They need to be pushed to get better and better.

“With someone like Sancho it would certainly bring that. It also gives Klopp different options where he could even drop Roberto Firmino into midfield. Sancho could play wide, with Mohamed Salah through the middle. It gives you lots of different options.

“It will all come down to whether Liverpool can now afford to make these deals (Sancho and Timo Werner) happen. But they’ll have factored in the revenue they’re bringing in – and plenty of other clubs will need the money at the moment.”

Liverpool are one of the strongest clubs in world football and Sancho is one of the best young footballers out there, so it’s no surprise to see the two linked – the 20-year-old would make the Reds’ already fearsome attacking ranks even more frightening.

A recent report from claims Sancho has an agreement with Dortmund to move clubs this summer, and given Liverpool are probably the most attractive proposition for a player in terms of English clubs really it’s just a question of whether Liverpool have the funds to purchase him.
