Arsenal Transfer News: Sky Sports journalist offers big Raphinha update
Arsenal are being linked with a move for Brazilian winger Raphinha once again and Spanish football expert Semra Hunter has been speaking on the situation.
The Gunners need to go for someone new after missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea. A number of names have already been touted as potential buys for Arsenal, with Raphinha among them.
However, while Raphinha is clearly a player Arsenal admirer, Spanish football expert Hunter told this morning that as of now, there’s no talk of Barcelona being willing to let the Brazilian leave.
“Since the World Cup his form has started to come back and he has played reasonably well, to the point where Xavi would probably be happy to keep him. I don’t know if Barcelona are taking it seriously in looking to bring him back to the Premier League or not,” Hunter .
“But at this point in time, at least in Spain, nobody is talking about a departure for Raphinha, at least for now. Maybe in the summer, but at least for right now it’s not really a point of conversation.”
Arsenal legend Paul Merson said this weekend he believes Raphinha will be Arsenal’s main target now. The Brazilian was tracked last summer by the Gunners, before he decided to sign for Barcelona.

We all know Barcelona need some money but they surely won’t give up on Raphinha after just six months at the club?
Yes, he’s not shown the form he showed for Leeds but this is still a fully fledged Brazilian international. On his day, Raphinha is more than capable. There is a reason why Barca splashed out £55m on him, he’s just not shown it yet.
For Arsenal, signing Raphinha would be a bonus. But in reality, it’s probably one of the harder deals to do.
