For the last 18 months, we’ve been hearing about how Tottenham want to sign Gallagher, and now, they may be about to make their decisive move.
Indeed, speaking on Sky Sports News, Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that Tottenham may be about to come in for the England international.
Solhekol says that he’s heard in the last few hours that Chelsea are now anticipating an approach from Tottenham for Gallagher.
Chelsea are expecting Conor Gallagher approach
Solhekol shared what he knows about the England international and Tottenham’s interest.
“Atletico Madrid are there for him, but I don’t think they’re offering enough. I’ve been told today that Chelsea are expecting Spurs to come in for him maybe in the next couple of days or the next few weeks. When he comes back from holiday there could be some major developments,” Solhekol said.
What Ange Postecoglou thinks of Conor Gallagher
It’s not a surprise to hear that Spurs will be going back in for Gallagher.
Indeed, Atletico Madrid have opened talks to sign the midfielder, and Spurs were not going to let this potential move just pass them by.
Ange Postecoglou is a huge fan of Gallagher, with Fabrizio Romano claiming earlier this year that the Spurs manager loves the midfielder.
“Do Tottenham like and appreciate Conor Gallagher? For sure, Tottenham tried to bring in Conor Gallagher in the summer? Why did Tottenham want Gallagher? Because Ange Postecoglou, from what I’m hearing, is in love with the player,” Romano said.
“He believes he’s a top player, Tottenham really appreciate Gallagher for sure, but are Tottenham and Chelsea in talks with Gallagher? Right now, at the beginning of January? No.”
Postecoglou is a huge fan of Gallagher, and that’s why Tottenham have been looking at him for so long.
After months and months of speculation, it sounds as though Spurs may finally be set to make their move for the Chelsea star.
