Sky Sports journalist shares latest update on Jonathan Rowe after Leeds links

Leeds United are on the verge of losing Georginio Rutter to Brighton and Hove Albion after his £40m release clause was activated.

The Whites have already lost Crysencio Summerville to West Ham United and Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur, so evidently Daniel Farke will be desperate to sign replacements.

Dejan Ljubicic has been linked to Elland Road as a successor to Gray whilst Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe has been identified to fill the void left by Summerville on the left.

With that said, the latest update on Rowe’s future has just emerged.

Sky Sports journalist on Jonathan Rowe

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has just issued the latest update on Norwich City attacker Jonathan Rowe amidst interest from Leeds.

“Marseille have made a second bid for Norwich winger Jonathan Rowe,” Thomas said.

“It is understood to be an initial loan with an obligation to buy him permanently.

“Marseille are currently waiting for Norwich to answer the bid.

“Leeds also remain interested in Rowe.”

Leeds have the finances to sign Rowe

There were question marks around whether Leeds had the finances to sign Rowe but after Rutter’s £40m sale, they should have no issue in meeting Norwich’s valuation.

Indeed, the main obstacle will be convincing him to join Leeds over Marseille, who seem to be giving it a real go in the window.

If a move for Rowe fails, they should consider slapping down £10m for Plymouth Argyle winger Morgan Whittaker, who netted an impressive 20 times last term.
