Sky reporter says Leeds United have asked about signing £15m centre-back now
Leeds United have been looking at centre-backs this month.
The Whites have been linked with the likes of Ben Godfrey and Joe Worrall throughout this January window.
Now, with the clock ticking towards the deadline, Leeds are still looking at central defensive additions, and now, they’re looking at an option from within the Championship.
Speaking on (1/2/24 12:23PM), Nick Powell has now claimed that Leeds have asked about signing Harry Souttar from Leicester City on loan.

Leeds ask about Souttar
Powell shared what he knows about the man.
“Transfer news from Championship leaders Leicester just reaching us. Stefano Sensi is set to arrive later today to complete a medical. While Leicester wanted to reduce their wage bill before bringing anyone in, they are now considering Sensi without further outgoings. However, Leeds have enquired about signing Harry Souttar today, but it’s thought Leicester would be reluctant to loan him to a promotion rival unless there is an obligation to buy,” Powell said.
Difficult
This would be a fantastic signing for Leeds, but it could be a difficult one to get over the line.
As Powell says, Leicester won’t be in any sort of hurry to strengthen one of their promotion rivals, and sending Souttar Leeds’ way would certainly help them in their promotion push.
Of course, if Leeds do add in a decent fee along with this loan, Leicester could perhaps go for this move as they look to recoup some much-needed cash.
Whether or not Leeds and Leicester can come to some sort of agreement before the deadline remains to be seen.
