Sky pundit thinks Arsenal-linked playmaker ‘on a different level’ would do ‘everything’ to join Gunners

Reported Arsenal target Emiliano Buendia would do “everything” to join the Gunners if he was made aware of their interest, according to Sky Sports pundit Darren Bent.

reported in December that the Norwich ace is on Arsenal’s transfer shortlist and that manager Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of the player.

Speculation linking Arsenal and Buendia was high at the beginning of the January window, though more recent reports have downplayed the possibility of such a move.

According to , Norwich are adamant that Buendia is not for sale, deeming him integral to their hopes of securing promotion to the Premier League.

In addition, the Championship club is thought to be under no financial pressure to sell the midfielder.

Earlier this week, claimed that Arsenal were looking to make a player-plus-cash offer, with Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson potentially in line for a deal.

Although Bent had some doubts about whether a move to Arsenal might be too big a step up, he nonetheless acknowledged he has got “great quality” and is top-flight standard.

“He has got great quality,” Bent said on the Football Show on Sky Sports (06/01, 11:40am) .

“And Arsenal are lacking at the minute. I know Smith-Rowe has stepped in and has been superb the last couple of games.

“But they are missing that creativity and someone who takes up those positions just behind the midfield.

“The last time he was in the Premier League, for someone of his quality, he scored one goal and that’s not enough. The seven assists are quite impressive.

“I guess the price will pay a big part in that. If he has any idea that Arsenal are interested then I am pretty sure he is going to do everything he can to get to the football club.

“He has real quality. Arsenal might be a big step up for him. But he should be in the Premier League with the quality he has.”
