
Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu received praise from Andy Hinchcliffe following the Whites’ 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Daniel Farke‘s Leeds made it 11 wins from their last 12 matches as they got over the line in Friday night’s Yorkshire derby in Sheffield.
The Elland Road outfit took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Junior Firpo flashed an excellent ball across the face of goal for Patrick Bamford to poke home.
The Leeds striker netted his seventh goal in 10 league games to give Farke’s Whites just the boost they needed going into the break.
Leeds then made all-but sure of all three points when they extended their lead shortly before the hour mark at Hillsborough.

However, Ampadu delivered another superb display to help the Whites keep a clean sheet.

Ampadu has really stepped up to the plate, and it’s great to see him inspire Leeds to another victory. They’ve now leapfrogged Ipswich Town into second place once again.
The Elland Road side is marching on and they’ll fancy their chances of automatic promotion this season. And for neutrals, it’s an incredible tussle for the top two spots.
