Sky journalist shares what a source has just text him about Raheem Sterling and Arsenal

We’re into the final knockings of the summer transfer window and the drama isn’t stopping.

After a long summer of stories and speculation, clubs are still scrambling for signings.

Arsenal have signed both Mikel Merino and Riccardo Calafiori this summer, and they’re looking for one final blockbuster addition.

Indeed, Raheem Sterling has been linked to Arsenal on deadline day, and speaking on Sky Sports News (30/8/24 8:05PM), Kaveh Solhekol has shared an update on this deal.

What Kaveh Solhekol has heard about Raheem Sterling

The journalist says he recently received a text saying that this move is advancing, while a source on the other side the deal now feels that this move will be finalised.

“The option has been put in front of Raheem Sterling and it is one that he is seriously considering,” Solhekol said.

“I’ve just had a message in the last few minutes saying that talks are advancing and real progress is being made. I also spoke to someone on the other end of the deal who said that they now felt that Raheem Sterling was going to make the move away from Chelsea this evening.”

Raheem Sterling could win Arsenal the Premier League

This could be the signing that secures a Premier League title for Arsenal.

At his best, Sterling is one of the most potent attackers in the Premier League.

Sterling once scored 20 goals in a league season for Manchester City, and he won a lot of silverware with Pep Guardiola’s side.

There’s a reason City fans used to sing ‘Raheem Sterling, he’s top of the league.’ The winger was so often the difference-maker for City, and under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta, he could do it again for Arsenal.

The Gunners don’t have long to get this deal done, but as Solhekol says, this one appears to be heading in the right direction late in the day.

There’s plenty of reason to be excited about this potential move.
