Sky journalist shares fresh update on Tottenham and Radu Dragusin live from Hotspur Way

Tottenham Hotspur look set to make it two signings in quick succession in the January transfer window.

After securing Timo Werner’s services, Spurs are now closing in on the signing of Radu Dragusin.

In the early hours of the morning, multiple reports – including – claimed that the Genoa defender had picked Tottenham over Bayern Munich.

Dragusin has since made his way to Hotspur Way, where he’ll undergo talks with the Tottenham hierarchy ahead of a medical.

Sky Sports journalist Gary Cotterill was at Tottenham’s training ground to provide the latest on the state of play involving Dragusin and Spurs.

“Radu is in the building,” he said, as per Sky Sports News’ account. “Everything seems to be going as expected.

“As you mentioned, he flew from Italy this morning; our colleagues got pictures of him getting on the plane.

“He landed at Stansted airport – about a 40-minute journey from here – just before 1pm and now at around 1:40pm, traffic obviously went his way because we saw a black people-carrier with blacked-out windows pulling into the training ground here.

“The first Tottenham employees to get an actual in-person sight of the new signing was a couple of security guards.

“He then went through the gate and turned left to go to the lodge, the hotel which is here where he’ll have a few discussions with the Tottenham hierarchy before undergoing his medical which can be undergone here at the Spurs training ground because they’ve got all the facilities on site.

“So yeah, he’s in the house, the new centre-back that Ange Postecoglou wanted so much he was a priority for him this January transfer window.

“And given all the time he’s been playing, given his age, given the fact that he’s up for the fight and very, very much fit as he’s played in every single game for Genoa this season and in Serie B last season, and of course Romania as well, he can drop straight into the side for that game on Super Sunday.”

Tottenham now set to sign Radu Dragusin

Last night, it seemed a bit touch-and-go with regards to Tottenham getting their hands on Dragusin. When you’ve got a club like Bayern weighing in with a bid for the player you want, people were understandably a bit nervous.

However, Spurs are a different beast now. Under Ange Postecoglou, they’re on the right track for success, getting results and playing well. Obviously they’re far from the finished product, but that’s where signings like Dragusin and Werner come in.

Tottenham have laid some great foundations and now it’s a case of building slowly and steadily, so that in the coming years, they can reach and maybe even exceed the heights reached under Mauricio Pochettino.

Hopefully it won’t be long now before we get that all-important official announcement.
