Sky journalist drops Radu Dragusin transfer update as Tottenham move edges closer

Tottenham Hotspur are edging ever closer to the signing of Romania international defender Radu Dragusin.

On Wednesday, Spurs got themselves on the home straight as the Genoa star opted to join the Lilywhites over Bayern Munich.

As the day progressed, Dragusin travelled from Italy to the United Kingdom to apply the finishing touches on his move to Tottenham.

Now, Sky Sports journalist Gary Cotterill, reporting live from Hotspur Way, has provided the latest on the 21-year-old’s transfer to spurs.

The reporter recapped what he saw in the early afternoon as Dragusin arrived at Tottenham’s training ground, before providing further updates.

“Dragusin was definitely in that people-carrier heading into the Tottenham Hotspur training ground on a bitterly cold night in north London,” he said, via the . “He’ll be getting a very warm welcome, indeed.

“Just before lunch, he arrived at Stansted airport around 1pm and then pulled into here around 1.45pm and went straight into the Lodge here at the training ground and will be doing his medical as we speak.

“Daniel Levy arrived around 90 minutes ago and want to be involved in the final stages of this deal.

“He only has to sign the paperwork by midday on Friday to be available for the game against Manchester United on Sunday.”

Tottenham on verge of getting Radu Dragusin deal over the line

Fabrizio Romano reiterated earlier today that Spurs will pay Genoa around £21.5million up front for the services of Dragusin, with a further £4.3million in add-ons.

The Romania international’s salary at Spurs works out at around £2.6million a year, or just under £50,000-a-week.

Surely we haven’t got long to wait before we get that all-important official announcement, likely preceded by a video.

From the writer’s experience, there have been a fair few signings that get announced at around 6pm UK time. Not saying this will definitely be the case here, but let’s hope it happens.
